Temporary School Hours
Good Morning Parents,
We are in the constant process of figuring out this delicate situation. Moving forward for staffing purposes, we are asking you to call or email by 8 a.m. if your child is not coming for the day. If you have already let us know that your child will be out for a specific time frame we already have that written down. Please call so that we know.
We are asking for your patience, understanding and support during this critical time. We were expecting an effect from the virus but not this severe. It is extremely difficult to figure out our next steps without knowing when we will be able to resume a normal schedule.
At this time we are going to reduce our business hours temporarily. It is hard to justify having the amount of staff here so early in the morning and so late in the evening with so few children. Starting Monday, March 23rd our new business hours will be…Opening at 7:15 a.m. and closing at 5:15 p.m..
We wanted you to be aware of our situation, as we are doing our best to figure everything out. We will keep you informed as we know our next step. We know that so many of you are facing similar unknowns.

New drop off and pick up procedures
Effective Monday, March 16th until further notice
In an effort to control the germs coming into our school we want to limit the amount of people coming in and out of our building.
Regarding drop off and pick up procedures
Drop off– Park your car and bring your child and all their items to the front door and a member of our staff will meet you to take your child to their classroom. We will have the sign in clipboard with us. Regarding infant and toddler drop off; our staff will have the daily charts available for you to fill out and the infant bottle containers. Also at that time, let the staff member know of any information they should pass on to your child’s teacher.
Please be patient with us and give yourself a few extra minutes in the morning, as this is also a new procedure for us.
Pick up– Call our office (630-620-0033) once you are in the parking lot and a staff member will meet you at the front door with your child and their items. Bear in mind, this will be a longer process than usual so make extra time for any after school activities.
Again, remember if your child is showing any symptoms of illness, please keep them home.
We are doing everything in our power to keep our staff and children healthy and well.

District 44 Closing
Parents, we will be open today, Wednesday March 11th.
However, if you are feeling sick or are sick, please do not come into our building. We have young children here with under developed immune systems. Our goal is to keep everyone healthy.
As usual, we clean our classrooms consistently all day and every night.
We only close when District 44 closes for weather related emergencies.
Dangerously Cold Temperatures
Hello All,
We have been informed that District 44 has closed school on both Wednesday and Thursday this week because of the predicted dangerously cold temperatures. So, we will also be closed as it states in our 2019 schedule. The safety and security of the children we care for as well as their families and our staff is our number one priority.

District 44 has closed all schools due to weather. Like our 2019 schedule says, if District 44 declares a weather emergency Pioneer will also be closed. We will see you all tomorrow, January 29th.
